Why is Mobility Important?

1 out of 5 people in the US are limited in their ability to function fully due to chronic issues that shouldn’t be there in the first place.

What they don’t realize is that it’s possible to move freely and feel great without unnecessary medications or surgery.

It’s NOT normal to have muscle stiffness and lack of mobility.

In most cases, it’s due to an imbalance in the body where one muscle group isn’t activating and another is overacting. This can be caused by poor mechanics when it comes to walking, sitting, etc or it can be caused by past injuries.

People that spend their days on the phone or computer a lot, commonly have stress and tension building up that can impact their ability to function normally. That stress and tension can be alleviated by improving range of motion, decreasing knots and tension buildup, and improving the ability to stretch and really get into the body.

By focusing on improving mobility, it’s possible to alleviate discomfort in the body and feel great. If you fix your body you will feel better.

This At-Home Mobility program was designed to provide you with 15 minutes of daily exercises to help you correct your body’s imbalances. It was designed for any body type and requires no equipment - just your bodyweight.

The goal is to get you to connect with your body, understand your imbalances, and learn how to fix them. Your whole body is connected so whether you have discomfort in your neck or knees, it’s important to train holistically to properly correct any issues.

Once your body starts feeling better you’ll be surprised how much it will positively impact your life.

Feeling better reduces stress!

Less tightness means more movement!

More mobility means more opportunity!

Mobility Is For Everyone

Everyone should have the ability to move their body freely without discomfort and feel great!

Improve Your Posture

Ever notice your shoulders rounding and pulling forward and limiting your shoulder range of motion as you reach behind your back or overhead? Rather than just strengthening the back, we must address the underlying mobility issues from the rib cage, through the upper back, and up through the tightness in the front of the chest first!

Sitting for an extended period of time can create stiffness from the hips and up into the back. Our hip joints and spine need to be lubricated with a variety of movements to maintain adequate mobility and function. When we address our foundation of movement, we create better, lasting changes in our body.

More Efficient Workouts and Faster Recovery

As a former pilates teacher of 6 years, I'm very familiar with the most common issues that affect a person's ability to properly workout. Discomfort caused by muscle tightness in the wrists, neck, lower back, and feet is extremely common. That discomfort can have a severe negative impact on the body's ability to perform exercises correctly.

Poor range of motion can cause our bodies to distribute weight improperly, resulting in even more problems and injuries that could be avoided. By addressing these issues the right way, you can avoid further problems and improve your workouts.

Reduce Stress And Tension In The Body

According to epidemiology studies, it is estimated that up to 84 percent of adults will have low back pain at some point in their life. Why is this particular pain problem so prevalent? We've been put in boxes before. We've been told that our low back pain is due to scoliosis, hip shifts or pelvic tilts, rotated pelvis, spinal alignment, trigger points, or core weakness!

The truth is - NONE of these factors can prove to be the cause of low back pain. None of them! So rather than relying on someone else to move, crack, massage, and try to "fix" us, we must rely on ourselves to gain better awareness of our own bodies, move more often in the places we've been neglecting, focus on a whole body approach and build from our foundation - our mobility.

Improve Overall Wellness

Everyday activities can put a tremendous amount of stress on our necks, back and feet especially. Left unchecked, this stress can lead to severe discomfort and ultimately cause injuries. It can also be the cause of headaches and neck tension.

Mobility and breathing exercises can address these issues to open up the body and feel better. Putting your body in a healthy state and leaving you with an overall feeling of wellbeing.

Real Results

I'm grateful I found @docjenfit after I had a rotator-cuff impingement and was in persistent pain. Doc, you are a wealth of information on how to bulletproof the body and move properly! Taking control by doing the mobility exercises before and after I surf, swim, or lift have helped me prevent injuries.

DAVID E.

Thank you so much for the mobility about the shoulders. I tried hanging on my rings. I think my shoulder benefited from only one try and the little bump is less on the shoulder blade, which means more mobility! Yay! Thank you!

TAMARA

These stretches have saved me. I'm able to run past the 30-minute mark without my knee giving up on me. Last week I ran 3.5 days straight without any pain. Thank you for these educational videos. They are wonderful and much appreciated.

WENDY D.

Thank you so much for your mobility series! I'm doing a lot of bouldering and calisthenics and experienced that my hip is "blocking" my range of motion to the side with a small stabbing pain. With your techniques, it feels so much more relaxed only after a few days.

TOM S.

I would just like to let you know your videos saved my love for working out. My shoulders were killing me... After doing some of the stretches in your videos, my shoulders have felt 100x better in less than a week. So thank you so much!!
